Aquadettes On Broadway!
Please help our tradition stay afloat! After a successful 2022 Aqua Follies, the Aquadettes of Laguna Woods Village are working on their 2023 show, The Aquadettes on Broadway, premiering on August 10th, 11th, and 12th. We continue to work to upgrade our much needed sound system, curtains, and costumes. To that end, we are partnering with the Village Community Fund again this year.
You can help in two ways. Come to our fundraiser on March 25, 2023, featuring the Nomads and a Continental Café of appetizers from around the world. It will be held in Clubhouse One, Main Lounge, 24232 Calle Aragon, Laguna Woods from 6:00 to 9:00pm. Click here for more information.
Our second annual Boot Scootin’ Boogie featuring Doug Houston will be held on June 17, 2023, from 5:00 to 8:00 and will include a barbeque style dinner. It will be held at Clubhouse One as well. The popular, renowned Laguna Woods Aquadettes had a successful run of their September 2022 production, “The Aqua Follies”. They raised $7,000 in donations from fundraising events to help pay for production costs, including the different costumes they wore for each of their routines. The Aquadettes thank all the wonderful people who donated, volunteered, and attended the shows!
The Aquadettes, a fun group of women with a common love of synchronized swimming, have been entertaining audiences for 56 years with their spectacular shows, typically one big performance per year in the Village. For more about the Aquadettes, click here.
The Aqua Follies featured up to eight synchronized swimming routines set to Disney music including, When You Wish Upon A Star, Sleeping Beauty and Beauty and the Beast. The show concluded with the ever-popular and patriotic, God Bless America.
