The FORMAT: The Committee is  still working on putting  together a stimulating and fun event featuring a brief introduction   about the “BOOK IN COMMON” concept,  possibly a video of the author, an “appearance” by Elizabeth Zott, the protagonist, and maybe even her dog (?), and, most important, discussion groups at each of the tables analyzing the book itself.

YOUR PART: Please read the book in advance and send in your reservation to: Please note – because we will be at tables, space is limited so do act quickly. If you have further questions, address them to the same e-mail.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

The Village Reads is group of residents who select a book each year that they encourage everyone to read. They invite residents to attend a presentation and discussion about the book.

The event is a part of the “BOOK IN COMMON” concept that is happening in communities all over the nation. You can search online for “one city one book” to learn more about it.

The goals of the event include:

  • To give participants a shared experience to help build community
  • To become a positive change agent in the community
  • To bring together the LWV reading community through a common experience
  • To value the pursuit of learning through reading books
  • To recognize our shared humanity

The group (soon to be a club) is raising money to help fund the event.
