For twenty-five years, she was its cultural heart and soul and a creative force in the wider community, which honored her in 2022 with the County of Orange Woman of the Year and Woman of Distinction Legacy Award for outstanding contributions to community life.”

About CeCe Sloan
For more than 25 years, CeCe Sloan’s dedication to women, art, and culture enriched the lives of Laguna Woods residents. She created and sustained many clubs, including those devoted to Shakespeare and Documentary Films. She organized Twilight Theater performances, International Women’s Day celebrations, annual South Coast Rep and LA Opera subscriptions, trips to Utah’s famed Shakespeare Festival, and more. Cece’s indefatigable creativity and energy benefited us all!

An Annual Lecture Series Honoring Women and the Arts
About the Event
In recognition of Cece's passions and purpose, a fitting tribute has been initiated. The Cece Sloan Memorial Lecture Series will be held - with support from the Village Community Fund. The annual event will begin in March 2025 and will feature presentations related to women and the arts.
